Match Report
Barry’s second toss win of the week and, perhaps with Tuesday’s result in mind, Superstars bat first. Gigg and Conway open for Superstars and both start positively, Gigg in particular looked more fluent than he did on Tuesday. The openers took us to 50 in 8 overs before Barry was out for 18. Harris (3) joined Conway before the former was given out stumped with a raised foot, not without some controversy. Conway’s innings ended on 21 from 34 and the runs dried up for Superstars. Erol Barnett playing in his first Superstars game in two years made a patient 15. Briggs made 2 and Mountain had made one before he noticed his batting partner had silently made his way to stand alongside him and Mountain was run out. Nick A-P (15) tried to pick up the scoring with some lusty blows with his new bat before Superstars concluded their innings on 102 which looked short of a par score by some twenty or thirty runs.
The chase did not prove troubling for Ad Hoc. After loose opening overs from Plahe and James A-P they were both consistent and picked up a wicket each. James A-P benefitting from the 16 year old batsman sending the ball into his grill the ball before. Mountain took a nice catch off Duggan but otherwise Ad Hoc made the score in the seventeenth over without too much trouble.
