Chairman's Report
The Chairman gave a verbal report which included thanking those involved in running the club.
Treasurer's Report
The accounts had been audited. The slight excess of expenditure over income was largely due to a lower pre-season estimate for pitches of 800 pounds, which subsequently turned out to be 988 pounds. The forthcoming bid is therefore slightly higher, in anticipation of an increase in fees. The estimate for expenditure on kit is higher than last year. This estimate is more in line with previous years (last year's bid was historically low), and also reflects the fact that the kit was subject to a good deal of use so needs replacing. There will be no change in subscription rates for the coming year. The bid for 2010 was approved by members unchanged.
Election of Officers
No nominations had been received. However, both Simon Gundry (greater family commitments) and Steve Evison (travel) had informed the AGM that they wished to step down as committee members. As a result two new committee members were elected - Mark Williams (nominated by Paul Gaught, seconded by Jason Marchant) and Will Walker (nominated by Michael Taylor, seconded by Mark Williams). These appointments were agreed unanimously. Matt Conway also stood down as Vice Captain to be replaced by Paul Gaught (nominated by Barry Gigg, seconded by Mark Williams). Matt Conway automatically moves onto the committee unelected (having already been elected onto the committee in 2003). Other committee members were re-elected unopposed. Elected officers are as follows:-

Arrangements for 2010 Season
Members were very concerned about the recent closure of facilities at Chiswick which had been greatly valued. It was hoped that the playing facilities would be maintained adequately, otherwise the club would have to review the future use of the ground. It was decided to arrange a number of early season matches at Battersea Park. This would add a bit of variety, and had the potential to ensure earlier starts to matches - late starts at Chiswick had, in previous seasons, resulted in games finishing in near darkness.
As with the latter part of last year, the role of canvassing players for weekly fixtures would be organised on a rolling basis. The committee wished to remind players that they should notify organisers of their availability as soon as possible. Players may wish to make a particular effort to attend afternoon fixtures where having a full XI is particularly beneficial. The e-mail list which is currently used to canvass players would be updated. Paul would be asking those players who had not made themselves available for any matches last year whether they still wished to remain on the list. Those not responding would be removed.
The annual poster promotion in tea points would be arranged in an attempt to recruit new players. Nets had been arranged at the Oval for pre-season practice, starting on 2 March.
Chris kindly agreed to try and arrange a tour in May. The tour is a long-standing club tradition and players are encouraged to come along to what has always proved a very enjoyable weekend. Further details of the tour would be sent to players in due course. Will Walker kindly offered to arrange a tour for the following year in Bedfordshire.
Any Other Business
The club would once again aim to put forward teams for the SPARTA and 4DAs sports days and would aim to support SPARTA at other events where possible. New members would also be encouraged to join SPARTA if they worked for DCLG or DfT.
The AGM noted with deep regret the death of long standing player Ken Block. He had made a significant contribution to the club since its inception, both behind the scenes and on the pitch. He was committed to the club and thoroughly dependable. He really enjoyed playing the game and helped maintain the team sprit and enjoyment of cricket, which are the key reasons for the club's existence. A trophy in memory of Ken would be purchased and played on an annual basis against the Dodgers.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 7.15.
Mike Taylor, Secretary.
