Batting first, Walker cruised to retirement, sharing a partnership of 28 with debutant Kevin Eames.
Kevin's first runs for Superstars came via a glorious cut for 4. Unfortunately most batsmen found it hard going and at 62-6 off 14,
Superstars were greatly indebted to numbers 8-11, Gigg, Mountain, Aranha and Vadgama for the defendable total or 111. Aranha opened and
conceded 7 runs off 4 overs, beating the bat with most deliveries. At the other end Mountain went for 10 off 4, dismissing both openers,
both caught at cover by Evison, one a dolly, the other a stunning airborne one hander right off the middle of the bat. Vadgama continued
the good bowling and took a wicket, Burki on debut stormed in with 1 for 9 and Eames finished them off in the gloom with a few tidy overs.
A great all-round performance by a resurgent Superstars, now 233 days unbeaten! |
