Superstars arrived at probably the least picturesque ground they play at (random factory one side, major road the other) but with one of the best bars (far more important) in
Sunbury for their annual game against Hounslow Leisure, a team that have outclassed us in recent years after Will got a century in 20 overs a few years back. |

We bowled first with Jeremy and Sandeep nicking early wickets. Sandeep was very much the "New" version with 4-0-13-1. Hounslow however looked to have a good base. Roy
Varghese yet again bowled economically without the reward of wickets (3-0-19-0) but did a great job for the side. Raj took a wicket but Hounslow were increasing the pace and looked threatening. Paul's mate, Pete Robb (
making his almost regular appearence for us in this fixture), however turned the game with a perfect flipper delivery (clearly it wasn't a lucky shooter off the wicket) to dismiss their powerful looking number 3 for 40. Barry
then stumped a batsman off Pete to bring the dangerous Wendel who'd smacked us round the ground in previous matches in his relaxed style. Luckily he was run out (I think in a mix up). Pete ended with 2-28 and Scott did some
top death bowling with 3-0-16-0 to restrict Hounslow to 140 for 6, which was a good effort but still a tough ask. |

Regularish opening partners Adam and Bungle started well, initially turning over the singles well before Gaught was run out for a surprisingly fluent 29. As is often
the case Adam also fell, bowled by our Sunbury nemisis Wendel for 19. Steve Evison looked to play for the side by being aggressive but was bowled for 3. When Nehal, making a welcome appearence, was unfortunately run
out (Barry was the other batsman, 'nuff said) for a well compiled 21 our heroes were 85 for 4 in the 14th over. Sandeep joined Barry and frankly we're surprised that Sandeep is still walking after the running Barry
made him do. There were far too many twos for Sandeep's liking but with three overs remaining we required 28. More running, some lusty blows from Sandeep and much cheering bought the target closer. 8 runs were
required of the last over. With the Hounslow captain taking the ball Barry hit the first ball for a single, then Sandeep hit a dot and then a two and a single. Leaving Barry to get four off the final two balls. Barry
got us home with two scrambled twos to cap an excellent captain's innings (30 not out) with Sandeep magnificent on 31 not out. |

A great performance by Superstars against one of the best teams we play. Good performances all round and this was celebrated in the bar thoughly. Happy days. |
